About God's Pit Crew

God's Pit Crew is a non-profit, faith based, group of over 200 volunteers who wish to serve others in their time of need. Click here to visit their website and read more about the great work they do.

Many people think that God's Pit Crew only helps those who are affected by disasters that strike far away. This is a common misconception. What they do at home, between disasters, is every bit as impressive as what they do in those times of great tragedy. Here's a list of things they've done locally over the last 24 months.

Distributed nearly 1 million pounds of food and supplies to needy people in southside Virginia. Including…

  • Gave two tractor trailer loads of baby supplies to crisis pregnancy centers in south side Virginia.
  • Gave two tractor trailer loads of toys and candy to needy children in Danville and Pittsylvania County through the Salvation Army in 2006 and 2007.
  • Gave 640 toys, drinks, and children's clothing to Boys and Girls Club of Danville, for Christmas 2007.
  • Gave toys to Danville Redevelopment & Housing Authority in 2007.
  • Gave toys, candy, and other supplies to Social Services for needy families for Christmas 2007 as well as baby food, car seats and other supplies throughout the year.
  • Gave toys and supplies to The Edge Teen Center in Danville 2007.
  • Gave Hope Builders of Danville windows, doors and other building materials in 2007.
  • Gave more than 5,000 pounds of supplies to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Food Bank.
  • Gave 80 cases of product to American Cancer Society.
  • Gave God's Store House more than 50,000 pounds of food and supplies in 2007.
  • Gave 2,000 pounds of supplies to Trinity United Methodist feeding program.
  • Gave supplies to Lisa Ferguson of Danville who prepares boxes for U.S. soldiers in Iraq.
  • Gave countless supplies to needy families in this area.
  • Have given away over 100 new windows to Danville area churches, businesses, and homes for needy people.
  • Have given out over 500 folding chairs to churches in southside Virginia.
  • Have given building supplies, windows, church pews, pulpit, communion table, and a piano to Lighthouse Baptist Church in Ruffin, NC.
  • Have given out two tractor trailer loads of salad, water, and tea to the Danville and Pittsylvania County areas.
  • Distributed more than 50,000 pounds of product to a small town in southwest VA that had been hit hard economically for years and then was hit by a devastating propane explosion.
  • They are currently distributing on average 30,000 to 40,000 pounds of product per week to other local charities and feeding programs.

  • Major repairs of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Danville, VA due to flooding.
  • Major home repairs for Ruth Hopkins, Schoolfield area of Danville.
  • Repairs on the foundation of the home of Lois Evans of Danville.
  • Major home repairs for Ruth Smith of Danville.
  • Major home repairs for Evelyn Johnson of Thomasville, NC.
  • Just finished working on a home off Westover Drive for an elderly couple, Mr. and Mrs. Duncan. Mrs. Duncan has cancer.
  • Just finished building a playhouse to auction off for The Children's Miracle Network to aid needy children at Duke Children's Hospital.
  • In 2008 they have plans of doing an extreme makeover for a needy family in Fieldale, VA.

God's Pit Crew is a shining star in southside Virginia. We're honored to help them raise the money to buy this new Dually.
